PR Days - Act 60 Tracker is a mobile application developed by Apexive Studio that helps users track their physical presence in Puerto Rico for Act 60 tax compliance purposes.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your location data. The most important thing to know: all your data stays on your device.

Location Data

What we collect:
  • GPS coordinates (latitude/longitude) when crossing Puerto Rico boundary
  • Timestamps of arrival and departure events
  • Location state (inside or outside Puerto Rico)
When we collect it:
  • When you cross Puerto Rico boundary (automatic geofencing)
  • When you manually log arrival/departure events
  • When you open the app (to verify current location)
Why we collect it:
  • To detect Puerto Rico boundary crossings
  • To maintain accurate day counts for Act 60 compliance (183-day requirement)
  • To provide arrival/departure event history

Data Storage & Sharing

  • All data stored locally on your device in a SQLite database
  • No cloud storage - no data transmitted to servers
  • No third-party sharing - location data never shared with any third parties
  • No analytics services - no location data sent to analytics platforms
  • No advertising - no data sold or shared with advertisers

Your location data is stored in the app's private storage directory on your device in a file called pr_days.db. This database is not accessible to other apps and is protected by your device's operating system security model (Android or iOS).

You have full control over your data and can delete all data by uninstalling the app.

How We Use Your Data

Permissions Required

📍Location Access

We need access to your device location to detect when you cross the Puerto Rico boundary. This is the core functionality of the app.

What we need:

  • ✓ Precise location: To accurately detect boundary crossings
  • ✓ Background location (optional): To track crossings when the app is closed

You can disable background tracking and use manual mode instead.

🔔Notifications

We request permission to send you notifications when you cross the Puerto Rico boundary.

Optional: The app works without notifications, but you won't receive alerts for boundary crossings.

⚙️Other Access

The app requires minimal additional permissions to function properly:

  • Internet access for error reporting (no location data transmitted)
  • Device wake permission to notify you when boundaries are crossed
  • Startup permission to resume tracking after device restart

None of these permissions collect or transmit your personal data.

Third-Party Services

Error Reporting (Sentry)

Service: Sentry (alerts.djangoflow.net)

Purpose: Crash reporting and error monitoring

Data collected:

  • App crashes and errors
  • Device model and OS version
  • Error stack traces
  • NOT collected: GPS coordinates or precise location data

Privacy: Sentry collects minimal diagnostic data. Location coordinates are NOT sent to Sentry. Only error reports for debugging purposes.

No Other Third-Party Services

  • ✗ No analytics (Google Analytics, Firebase, etc.)
  • ✗ No advertising networks
  • ✗ No social media integrations
  • ✗ No cloud storage services
  • ✗ No data brokers

Your Rights & Control

1. Control location tracking

Go to your device Settings → Apps → PR Days → Permissions → Grant or revoke location permissions at any time to enable or disable tracking

2. Delete your data

All data is stored locally on your device. To remove it, either clear the app data from your device settings or uninstall the app

3. Export your data

Use the app's export feature to save your tracking data as a CSV file on your device

Security

How We Protect Your Data

  • Data stored in app's private storage (protected by your device's OS - Android or iOS)
  • No transmission over internet (no network security needed)
  • SQLite database (industry-standard local storage)
  • No passwords or authentication required (local-only app)

Security Best Practices

  • Keep device updated with latest security patches
  • Use device lock screen (PIN/password/biometric)
  • Don't share device with untrusted users
  • Regular device backups (if desired)

Data Retention

• Data retained indefinitely on device (your choice)

• You can delete data at any time via app settings

• Data automatically deleted when app is uninstalled

• No server-side data to retain or delete

Children's Privacy

The app is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. Act 60 tax compliance is for adults with legal tax obligations in Puerto Rico.
